The 23rd Southeast Law Young Teachers' Salon was successfully held in our college.

On the afternoon of 4 December 2024, the 23rd Southeast Law Young Teachers Salon was successfully held in the conference room on the fourth floor of the Law School. This salon was organised by the Young Teachers Development Committee of the Law School, with Associate Professor Miao Zeyi, Director of the Department of Legal History of the Law School, as the moderator, and Associate Professor Ji Yang, Associate Professor Xu Minchuan, Lecturer Zhang Yunhao, Lecturer Bi Sheng, and Lecturer Wu Dongxing, as well as other young teachers and students of the Law School, taking part in this activity. The theme of the salon was ‘Legal Research in the Digital Age’.


In the theme report session, Mr Miao Zeyi mainly discussed the opportunities and challenges of jurisprudence research in the digital era, mainly elaborated from the three angles of the relationship between law and morality, the nature of rights and obligations, and the role of law in legal practice, and put forward three theoretical innovations of jurisprudence that are urgently needed in the digital era. equal rights; second, the legal positivism of cyberspace, including the social constructiveness of law, the difference between rules and practices, and legal pluralism; and third, the normative theory of technological regulation, including the critique of technological neutrality, moral responsibility and technological responsibility, and the relationship between humanity and technology. Mr Wu Dongxing, on the other hand, develops the discussion from the direction of legal methodology in the digital era. Mr. Bisheng discussed the technical aspects of AI in the digital era, proposed legal AI in the era of big models from the perspective of computing power, data, and algorithms, and expanded on the connection between robots and behaviourism, ‘perception-behaviour’, and tameness, and proposed AI's social behaviours: simulated life.


In the seminar session, the participating teachers had a lively discussion on AI regulation, the status of AI as a legal subject, within the institutional normative system of law, human subjectivity, personhood, predicated prediction of law, symbolic reasoning, linguistic reasoning, and whether jurisprudence possesses the ability to falsify, and so on. The salon was a great success.


Focusing on the theme of ‘Academic Year’ of Southeast University in 2024 and adhering to the principle of ‘Academics First’, the Committee of Young Teachers Development of the School of Law has carried out a series of brand activities, such as ‘Southeast Law Young Academic Month’. The salon is a series of brand activities, such as ‘Southeast Law Youth Academic Month’. This salon, as a young academic month activity in the discipline of jurisprudence and history of law, attracted extensive participation from teachers and students of administrative law, civil and commercial law and other disciplines, which provided useful support to fully stimulate the creative vitality of teachers and students of the School of Law, and improve their academic ability.
