In order to deeply implement the relevant requirements of the thematic education work of Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era, explore the new mode of synergy and cooperation between party and group organisations, and effectively enhance the execution effectiveness of the party and group linkage work, on December 6, the symposium of Xiong Zhanglin, vice dean of the Southeast University Law School, on in-depth discussion of the students' party and group branch, was held in the conference room of big data on the fifth floor of the School of Law successfully. This activity was hosted by Li Shuang, the youth member of the second party branch of LLM. Mr Xiong Zhanglin, vice dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Law School of Southeast University, and students from the undergraduate 250221 group branch and the second party branch of LLM attended this symposium. The event was centred on students' problems in administrative law study, further education and thesis writing. The students asked questions on practical issues such as graduate school interview strategies and academic paper topics in a pleasant atmosphere, and Dean Xiong's detailed answers inspired the students and benefited them a lot.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dean Xiong said that this meeting aims to directly respond to the various urgent problems faced by students in their study and life, and encouraged the students to speak actively and ask specific questions about their personal development planning and academic progress, in order to obtain more accurate and effective guidance and help.

Fan Lingqi asked President Xiong for advice on the qualities of students that interviewers value in the summer camp for graduate school. Dean Xiong pointed out that a deep understanding and solid mastery of professional knowledge is the core competitiveness of students. He stressed that every student should develop a personalised development path according to his or her own characteristics and interests in order to adapt to the diversified academic and professional needs.

Zuo Siyu asked Dean Xiong for advice on topic selection and layout of course paper writing. Dean Xiong pointed out that practical writing is a key part of improving academic ability, and mentioned that the College plans to offer a special thesis writing course to systematically improve students' writing ability.

Li Xingcheng asked Dean Xiong about how to effectively improve the innovation of dissertation. Dean Xiong suggested that when writing dissertations involving countermeasures, postgraduates should ensure the originality of the proposal and the ability to practically solve practical problems. At the same time, Dean Xiong stressed that the importance of theoretical tools should not be ignored and encouraged students to explore and dare to innovate.

Zhang Han asked Dean Xiong for advice on the topic selection and writing skills of administrative law thesis. Dean Xiong made a detailed description of the ways of selecting topics for academic papers, including paying attention to classic cases, major legislative developments, hot events in society, controversial topics in the theoretical world and the key selection guidelines issued by academic journals, and encouraged students to actively broaden their academic horizons, laying a solid foundation for their future academic research and professional careers.

Finally, Dean Xiong summarised the questions raised by the students and encouraged them to set clear and feasible personal development goals, to work hard in the academic field, to continue to pursue excellence and innovation, and to strive to grow up to be the outstanding young talents needed by the Party and the country in the new era.
